If you ever thought that 2011 was a really great year in the movie world, then think again. 2012 seems to be the so called “year of movies” as there are real anticipations of some great performances in the movie theater. The super heroes may just have one of their greatest ventures in the theater and may be greatly featured on big screens. It is also anticipated that Sony may just reboot the franchise of Spider Man with Andrew Garfield acting as Peter Parker, but this time round, in 3D. Also Nicholas Cage may just make a comeback as Johnny Blaze in the movie “Ghost Rider”. These are some of the vibes about movies that may just be greatly featured, come the year 2012.One of the movies, greatly anticipated in the year 2012 includes The Devil Inside. This is a movie directed by William Brent Bell starring Fernanda Andrade. It is categorized as a thriller suspense movie. The story line centers on a woman who had been made to believe that her mother murdered about three people as a result of insanity. She then chose to discover the truth behind the story, after being told that the murders were done during exorcism. She then became involved in a number of illegal exorcisms at the time she was documenting her experience with an Italian film crew.
Another movie that is also expected to hit the big screens is the “Beauty and the Beast 3D”. It is directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, stirring Robby Benson. Its story line is based on Walt Disney magical animated classic with wonderful new 3D imagery. It captures the great journey of Belle, a beautiful and bright young woman who was taken as a prisoner by a beast in his palace. Despite her dangerous situation, she opts to be friend the enchanted staff of the castle who included the tea pot, the candelabra and the mantle clock. This finally enables her to see underneath the beast’s heart and discovers the prince’s soul inside.
There is also the movie called; Underworld: Awakening, directed by Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein with Kate Beckinsale stirring. It is an action Sequel Horror in 3D. It is build upon an old enmity between the vampires and the Lycos that at one time was their ware wolf slaves.
Another movie that is expected to make a debut is One for the Money. It is directed by Julie Anne Robinson with Katherine Heigi starring. It is categorized as action, comedy crime, adaptation and mystery. The story line is built one unemployed lingerie consumer (Katherine Heidi) who persuades her cousin (bail bonds man) to give her a shot as a bounty hunter. Her first engagement was to track down an ex policeman Joe Morelli who was on the run for murder. Apparently, she had fallen in love with the same man many years ago, but he broke her heart. Her friends slowly taught her the art of being a real bounty hunter.
Another movie that may shake the movie world is Michael. It is directed by Markus Schleinzer and categorized as drama. Its story line is built on the life of a 10 year old boy who was being controlled by a man who had locked him away in a room in the basement. It gives the account of his last five months.
The Woman in Black is the movie to expect around February 2012. It is directed by James Walk-in with Daniel Radcliff starring. It is categorized as a thriller, suspense, and adaptation acted in 3D. It is built on the story of a young lawyer who travelled to a remote village so as to take custodianship of a deceased man’s papers. He then notices a woman who was only dressed in black and this led to the uncovering of great secret.
Also, in February 2012, Journey2: The Mysterious Island is expected to be released. It is directed by Brad peyton with Jodh Hutcherson starring. It begins with Josh Hutcherson receiving a coded distress call from an unknown island. The island apparently exists in a place where no island was expected to exist. The island has mysterious forms of life, with gold mountains, violent volcanoes and with several surprising secrets. These secret apparently is believed to involve josh’s grandfather. Josh’s step father tries to stop him but fails, and so he too joins the mission. Together with a passionate daughter and a helicopter pilot, they set off to search for the island. The mission is to save the sole inhabitant of the island before the island is destroyed by cosmic waves forever.
At around March, Snow White 3D is expected to hit the movie theaters. It is directed by Tarsem Singh with Julia Roberts starring. It is categorized as drama adventure, teen, fable and is acted in 3D. It is based on the battle between the edgy but modern stories full of adventure and comedy against the traditional story. Snow white’s step mother killed her husband and destroyed the kingdom then snow white together with a group of seven short men chose to fight to restore what belonged to snow white.
Also in March Dr. Seuss' The Lorax is upcoming: Kids will also have something to anticipate in next year’s cinemas. Reviving Dr. Seuss’s children’s book in 3D cartoon, the characters will be voiced by today’s trending celebrities like Zac Efron as Ted, Taylor Swift as Ashley, and Willow Smith as Marta. Other characters will be voiced by veteran stars such as Danny DeVito as The Lorax, Ed Helms as Once-ler, Betty White as Norma, Rob Riggle as O’Hare, and Sherry Lynn with the other voice overs. Directed by Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda, it will be released in cinemas on March 2, 2012 in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s 108th birthday.
If you want a movie full-packed with superheroes, mark May 4 on your calendars for “The Avengers”. Marvel fans will surely attend to the premier night or they’ll miss Captain America and Ironman. Other superheroes include Thor, Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. Little information has been released regarding the role of the casts. According to some leaked information, Ed Norton will play Hulk and Jeremy Renner will be Hawkeye. Other casts include Samuel Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth. Director Whedon has not yet revealed who will be the villains in the movie.
The second one upcoming the same month is Men in Black 3 (MIB 3) - Have you missed Agent J and Agent K? Cry no more for they will be back on May 25, 2012! Still directed by Barry Sonnenfield, casts remain unchanged. Agent J will still be Will Smith and Agent K is Tommy Lee Jones. However, it seems that Agent J will travel through time and keep a younger Agent K in his guard.
In July Batman will be back! The Dark Knight Rises - This movie stars Christian Bale along with Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. As obvious from the title of the movie itself, this is part of the Batman series and according to some; this will be the final chapter. No further details have been yet released about the specific roles of the stars, but some information leaked that Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman. Batman’s psychic, Robin, will probably off the screens since Christian Bale stated that he won’t work for the movie if Robin is included in the cast. Tom Hardy will play Bane’s role. Directed by Christopher Nolan, “The Dark Knight Rises” will surely be a blockbuster hit when it premiers on July 20, 2012. Don’t dare miss the epic finale of Batman series!
2012 sure is filled with superhero movies, and one of them is the never-dying Spiderman. However, it won’t be Tobey Maguire with Kirsten Dunst as his leading lady; it’s a whole new generation of cast. The Amazing Spiderman erases Peter Parker and Mary Jane completely off the screen and replaces them with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey. Andrew Garfield will play the role of Spiderman and the villains Lizard and Proto-Goblin, who were both created by Norman Osborn in one of his experiments, will be played by Rhys Ifans and Irrfan Khan respectively. Since the movie was made by Marc Webb in low budget, expect that there won’t be much digital effects. Watch this in cinemas on July 4, 2012.
James Bond 23 - Another never-ending yet craved-for movie will come to the cinemas on November 9, 2012. Starring Daniel Craig and Judi Dench, director Sam Medes paves way for another series of James Bond in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dr. No.
J. R. R. Tolkien’s Nordic novels have truly become a hit. After finishing the whole series of Lord of the Rings, he’s taking another turn into the cinemas with The Hobbit. The Hobbit serves as a prequel to the Lord of the Rings where a Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins set out with a group of dwarves to the Lonely Mountains in pursuit of the treasure stolen from them by Smaug the dragon. There’s a long line of casts for the movie but the cameras area focused on Martin Freeman, Orlando Bloom, Richard Armitage, Ian Holm, Andy Serkis, Cate Blanchett, Sir Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, and Hugo Weaving. Director Peter Jackson has already set the release date on December 14, 2012.
It seems that 2012 is filled with revived or continued sequel movies. Legendary Pictures, who has made a successful remake of Batman, has already decided to give the disappointing Godzilla a new look. It seems that the movie will be focused on the giant lizard since there are no listed main casts. Director Gareth Edwards has not yet given a final date on the year 2012 for the release of the new Godzilla.
